While I know the Boy Scouts is a valuable organization for many, my personal experience left a lot and when I mean a lot I mean A LOT to be desired. One of the biggest issues I faced was the social dynamic, especially with older scouts. Instead of fostering leadership and mentorship, some seemed more interested in bossing others around just to feel important and “cool”. If you ever want to teach your kids some excellent things and it ever-changing world this is a great place to start they also have tons of great stuff I usually pick up items that I would normally pick up at REI here out of convenience. They always have an excellent staff and can most times meet needs on the spot.
