This is by far the worst prison in NY. They are beyond neglectful of inmates medical needs. 2 weeks with a cracked tooth with exposed nerve & my loved one is still waiting to be seen. They say just keep writing requests to medical. They don't even help these men when they're begging for mental health assistance. They're just so crooked. They quarantine inmates without their property for covid without even testing them. This is to keep this prison going since it's mainly a "box" facility & the laws on solitary have changed. I wasnt here at upstate box but i was just over the fence at bare hill, could hear dudes screaming at night when we was in the yard, this is the spot for dudes who are about that life

Had the pleasure of staying there for a little under a week a few years back. I must admit my séjours there was quite pleasant. The staff there are amicable attentive and always ready to make your stay a memorable one. Would have given them 5 stars however the duck soufflé should never be served with potatoes.
