Shawn at Showplace was fantastic from start to finish. Showplace took a good number of items (both big and small) from my parent's estate apartment, brought three movers, were super efficient and paid a good amount for the items they took. These were good quality items which we would have donated or junked through junkluggers so they saved us the expense of removing the items and paid us to be able to resell them. Great people to work with! Highly recommend.
We recently sold our Manhattan condo and needed to sell a group of designer furniture and decorative objects by Poul Kjærholm / Fritz Hansen, Piero Lissoni / Living Divani and others. Because of our closing, we had a firm deadline. Showplace offered a solid price and quickly arranged a pickup to meet the timeline. I recently had to clear out my boss’s office space, which was decorated with valuable art and antique furniture. I met with, and got quotes from, several auction houses. Showplace offered me the best, fairest price. They took everything, even items that were not very valuable, and absorbed the moving and shipping costs. Claire was extremely knowledgeable, professional, reliable and trustworthy. Not sure where any of the negative reviews came from, but I would HIGHLY recommend Showplace.
I can't imagine that selling an estate is ever easy. But Shawn and the people at Showplace made the process as easy as possible. I live out of state, so having people I could trust was critical. Showplace was professional, fast, knowledgeable, courteous, and fair. It was also helpful that they didn't just cherry-pick the most valuable items (like modern art) but purchased most of the belongings.
