I went into the downtown Cedar Rapids branch office around 4 on Dec 2, 2016 and asked if I could break a $100 so I could buy food at Jimmy Johns across the street. It was all I had on me and they don't accept $100 bills over there. Which is understandable for a smaller business. I was told by both a teller and a manager "We can't break $100 bills." I politely asked "How can you not? You're a bank." Response? "People counterfeit them and we can't take a chance." ...did they just openly admit to not being able to spot fakes? I... read more
