I went to the credit union to pay my car loan and then asked to make a payment on my daughter’s loan as well. When I asked how much the payment was, the teller said she couldn’t give me that information. I explained the obvious problem: without knowing the payment amount, I can’t know how much to give her. I also pointed out that the moment I hand her cash and she gives me change, I’ll know the payment anyway. Simple math.
