We used North Rim/Joel for a 30-min family session and had a great experience! Joel was great with our toddler and captured beautiful photos of our family. The location was perfect, his timing for the proper light was spot on and he was super responsive and easy to work with. We travelled from Davis to have our photos done in Chico and will be using Joel/North Rim for future services. Highly recommend!

We loved working with Joel on our Big Sur wedding. He was calm and had a wonderful, peaceful vibe throughout the day, which really helped everyone relax in front of the camera, yet he also did a great job directing everything. He knew all the right shots and made the photography fit in seamlessly to the day. His artistic style was exactly what we were going for and he does amazing work in outdoor settings/natural environments. He truly made our wedding photo dreams come true!!

Joel was absolutely amazing! We would 100% recommend. He took both our engagement and wedding photos. Absolutely love our photos! He will do anything to get the shot even if that means getting soaked by ocean waves up to his chest. Joel is professional and personable. He made us feel so comfortable and still was able to capture absolutely gorgeous shots. This was my first experience with North Rim Photography, we booked maternity/family photos. Joel did an amazing job! Our toddler did not want to cooperate during our shoot, and you can’t even tell in the pictures.

Joel is the absolute best photographer you will find in Chico! His work is amazing and he is the most personable guy. We immediately knew quality was his top priority, but trusted that he would perform day of and hoped for a good outcome. What we later found out by working with him is that he is extremely easy to be around and his guidance for uncomfortable people in front of the camera was perfect.
