In June 2025 I met with Terry Kilakos of North East Mortgages (aka Sotirios Kilakos) to discuss refinancing my current mortgage. There were a few complicated steps involved (new partner coming onto Mtg. and ex moving out and buying her own home) but our initial meeting was good. In June 2025 I met with Terry Kilakos of North East Mortgages (aka Sotirios Kilakos) to discuss getting pre-approved for a mortgage to purchase a new home. I had worked with Terry in 2018 and was happy to engage his services again. What followed was a horrible experience. I received a "conditional approval" letter from Terry when I put an offer on a townhome. Not sure why but we had an initial meeting and had provided all requested information beforehand. Good meeting and agreed on fees and all. Was supposed to get a prelim offer within two weeks. Didn’t hear anything for three weeks so called for an update. Could not reach the broker by email text or telephone. The secretary could not help either. Never heard back. A total waste of time and more unprofessional would be hard to find.
We recently got a 2nd mortgage with help from Terry and Merav. This is the 3rd time (and definitely not the last time) dealing with them. Their service and advice are top-notch, as usual. Ohh,, and Olympia, is the best, she never failed to follow up to ensure all is taken care of :)
