I have been a pass rider for 20 years and have always felt safe riding the Downeaster. However when the train is allowed to run with only one door half open to let all the passengers on and off from Maine to North station, I feel very unsafe because if there is an emergency onboard and paramedics can't get in or worse if there is an internal issue with the train and we have to get off in a hurry that one door is going to be insufficient to get everyone off safely.
