Michael from Nilas Photography produced the best set of family portraits that we’ve had in 35 years of marriage. Poses were original, warm and living. He and his wife and son welcomed us into his studio, made us feel right at home, and set up lighting and background in just a few minutes. The session was fun and the results were fabulous—and affordable. I highly recommend this Portland photographer.

Nilas is fun, prompt, communicative, talented, inclusive, and in general rad to work with. We’re so glad he captured our wedding at the Oregon Garden. He gave us 500 (!) fantastic photos in only 2.5 weeks, which is amazing and atypical for photographers (so I’ve read). We were so impressed by the quality of his work as well as the speed of processing. We’ve enjoyed going through them again and again. We absolutely recommend him. 10/10 would hire him again!

My wife and I visited Portland for our 10 year wedding anniversary and decided to celebrate with a photo shoot. We chose Nilas Photography based on an exceptional portfolio but also a keen eye for alternative dark-art. Michael was professional and communicative during the entire process, making it easy for us to set up and get together during our trip. He suggested an incredible waterfall location and we absolutely love how our photos turned out! Nilas is not only photography but art in its purest form.

We were beyond lucky to have Michael capture our proposal. His friendly and professional approach made us and everyone else feel comfortable throughout the event. We were also very grateful that he allocated more time than we had discussed, ensuring the entire occasion was documented.
