For me my husband and our 6 month old son, Nilas Photographed us in our own way, in Michael’s very pro studio, here in Portland. He was SO kind, so patient and made us feel at ease right away. He’s also GREAT with babies. Go figure. If you are looking for affordable PROFESSIONAL family photos with a quick turn around, Nilas Photography is your man! We can’t get over how beautiful the photos turned out and he didn’t have us waiting weeks to see them. Michael we’ll be back!

Hired Michael for all day coverage at our May 2026 wedding. My partner and I are camera shy so we appreciated a more hands off photographer with only a small portion of the day dedicated to a shot list or specific poses. The rest of the time was spent capturing the feelings and energy of the day in candid photos and they really came through in the final photos. We hired Michael for our wedding photographer and he was amazing! There are so many talented photographers in Portland that it was hard to pick one, but I ended up picking Michael because not only were his photos beautiful, but I immediately felt comfortable with him because he was an alt-weirdo like me and it was clear from talking to him that we shared the same values. I definitely plan on hiring him again in the future for family portraits!

Got my headshots taken professionally at the happy hour headshot event and it was a 10/10 experience ! Michael was super friendly and a great conversationalist, making me feel at ease throughout the session. He also made sure there was variety in the shots ( poses, backdrops) which I appreciated. If you’re in Portland looking for professional headshots, I highly recommend working with Micheal !
