I just had the most racially uncomfortable experience at this store. I went in search of specific herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), hoping that they could assist. I had the herbs pulled up on my phone to show them to the staff. The saleswoman takes a quick glance at the phone, looks at me, and says “We don’t carry African herbs, this is a Chinese store.” (I happen to be African-American.) I said “I understand this is a Chinese pharmacy, which is why I am here. These are herbs used in TCM, not African herbs.” ... read more

Traditional Chinese herb shop, Favorite herb is mullein for treating my asthma (much more effective than albuterol, without the jittery side effects, much less expensive,) There is a lot to learn here about herbal medicine, just please don't be one of those people who says "when I walked in the herbs smelled strong, I felt cleansed as I entered" .. you weren't cleansed by the smell of herbs, I think you should do actual evidence based research and find out how the different herbs interact with the body :) And be careful!
