I had a good experience renting with NextCar. I went back a second time as they treated me so well the first time. Friendly staff and even dropped me off at the Canada Line station after my first rental. I didn't have a credit card which made it difficult to find a car rental place that would accept that but they did; with a $500 deposit, which is acceptable.
This rental agency is a scam. They advertise one price in CAD and take the full amount in advance, guaranteeing a car will be ready for you. When you get there, needing the car, they claim the price is in USD and you still owe a significant amount for the rental fee. They are hoping your desperate need will compel you to pay the scam amount. If you refuse, they say you can cancel and receive a refund...one that they will delay for weeks and weeks. I didn't have a good experience and I won't be returning. Clear communication is absolutely critical for good customer service. I was misled a few times by the online booking: First, Nextcar is listed as an airport rental location, but it isn't at the airport. It's a 10 minute drive. This should be stated more obviously. Second, Nextcar offers a free shuttle service, but this also wasn't stated in the booking email. This information was buried one of a few PDF attachments.
