Zero stars: Unprofessional servicing and broken promises: If your loan gets transferred here, be prepared to fight for your own money. I was promised my insurance funds would be released on a Tuesday. It’s now Friday and my contractor is still unpaid despite doing his part. Newrez is effectively holding my funds hostage. I have never had such a bad experience with a lender and I am a Realtor for 11 years. Stay away!!!! I will gladly tell you THREE seperate reasons why! Would leave 0 if i could. Impossible to talk to a human !! They take forever to sign off on insurance checks in order to pay your contractors for damage repairs!! Still waiting on a check I spent $52 to overnight to have them sign off and return. Now going on 3 weeks can’t get a human to talk to me!! I didn’t choose this poor excuse of a company I chose a local lender for this very reason. However they took over the loan. Avoid this company if possible!!!!
I closed on my home Aug 14th then 1 month later my loan was sold to New Rez! I sold my last house when shellpoint became NewRez! I am a 50 percent disabled veteran and needed my tax paper updated to reflect that! In the state of Illinois we receive homestead exemption for veterans with disabilities. I closed without it been added to my account but went too the court house and received all my approved paperwork to submit to them! The supervisor l spoke with was so rude l hung up! Worst mortgage company I've ever dealt with. Anytime you call in to discuss your escrow or mortgage, they start the call off by telling you they're bill collectors and treat you like you're some deliquent that hasn't paid your bills even though you've never once had a late payment. When you ask what is wrong with your escrow account, there are no answers. The lady literally told me it wasn't their job to pay my taxes and insurance...even though it literally IS their job because it's all in escrow. We had absolutely no issues... read more
