I have been trying for months to get NewRez to lower my Escrow payment as it's currently over $2,100/month. I told them that I was able to find a much lower Homeowner's Insurance Policy that was half of my previous policy. It was $11,000+ with USAA and now is $5,700 with AAA. USAA sent me a check for $7,800, which I turned around and paid AAA in full for the year and then made a payment of the difference to NewRez for my Escrow account. I contacted New Rez while recovering from a major heart attack. I’d never been late or missed a payment in 7 years, but I was struggling to make ends meet on short term disability. They recommended an option to help with my situation. Assured me it wouldn’t hurt my credit score. I would leave zero stars if possible. Aneesah T, the chat rep, failed to answer a simple question, kept repeating his answer. When I pursued an answer, the rep disconnected from the chat and never got help. NewRez has had horrible customer service since taking over my loan. If you are going to have incompetent help, get out of the game.
