We took out a mortgage with them earlier this year. They did not pay the May property taxes out of our escrow. That's the whole reason to have an escrow. Now, we are being billed a $313 late fee and NewRez told us they will "get back to us in 15 business days." We are hoping for a refund for the late fee and that they will use our escrow money to pay the taxes.
It used to be Caliber and now with ownership under Newrez it has been a completely awful experience. Do NOT use them for a loan. I have reached out to them three times over the last 2 weeks and have received no response in regard to a timely matter on my loan.
It used to use caliber, they were great and then all of a sudden everything changed to Newrez and my experience has gone down hill.
They care nothing about people. It’s all about the money.
