By having some kind of guarantee on their frames other than the manufacturers. Once you've had lens put in elsewhere, it doesn't matter that the frames don't fit now because there's no turning back, refund, replacement or SQUAT! That's tough stuff when you've paid over $100 for these plastic frames! Boy was I taken in!

I had the same optometrist for 15-16 years. I only changed due to insurance. I tried Dr. Rees, and I liked him. He seemed through in my exam. I opted for contacts since my insurance would only cover one or the other and I primarily wear contacts. They told me that was fine, the could give me my prescription to order glasses. They scratched my glasses when trying to adjust them. The front desk person told me that I should be more careful when cleaning my glasses that it could have been dirt or sand caught in between the cloth and the lense. I was dumbfounded. I even heard the technician struggle in the back. I'd be afraid to eat dinner with her while she has a fork in her hand. I'd hope to leave the table with both eyes.

New vision charged us over $400 out of pocket on lenses in addition to what our insurance covered. We happened to be in Costco the next day, and they have the same lenses for only $159.99 without any insurance. I called New Vision to cancel the lens order, but they refused. At first they claimed the insurance wouldn't let them cancel, so I called the insurance rep who said you can cancel. Then New Vision claimed they had already started on the lens.
