I went through a scale at a New Mexico POE and had to pay $29 after the officer looked at my paperwork. I had no issues with it but I was dumb founded when I asked the officer what that payment was for. “It’s required” was his initial response then went on to explain stuff that had nothing to do with the $29. I called NT trucking Association and Johnny gave me a straight answer “weight and distance permit” valid for 3 days in NM. Required in four other states. I laughed so hard over the phone. Thanks Johnny and NMTA!
