I have started the homebuyer program with NACA, in California for a newly single parent with one income the home purchasing process; it can be exhausting and intimidating/discouraging. I was referred to NACA by a co-worker. Honestly it sound too good to be true. I was assigned Tamika Calhoun for my mortgage counselor and she made the process attainable and she was so helpful each step of the way, assisting me with a list of programs I qualified for as well as being very knowlegeable about the process which helped me greatly.
Currently applying for a NACA home loan, the organization seems like a really positive force against predatory home loans. NACA has brought the public's attention to "predatory loans," and has helped take down some of the bad actors in home loan banking. Whether you get a NACA home loan or not it's worthwhile to check them out and support them in any way you can!
My partner and I are currently going through the NACA documentation process, the pre-application counseling stage of intake. NACA’s mission of helping folks into home ownership is a holistic approach to making owning a home accessible.
