Came in to deposit a check from the sale of a home. I’ve been an NBT customer for 12+ years and was told, we don’t know you so we’re placing a one week hold on it. I had called the Oswego branch a day before to confirm and discuss the options of check vs wire transfer and was told the check was the better option with less fees and would be cleared overnight. I've been a customer of NBT bank for years. I went in today to ask about a laon. I was handed a piece of paper and was told we will get back to you in a day or two. I wasn't even asked if I was a customer. This is no fault of the bank teller,but could it be a little more in personable? Most places would sit you in front of a laon officer and talk about what kind of loan you wanted and gave you some options. (Update 12/26/24 was sent a generic auto response to my concerns. Worst bank for auto loans. Horrible customer service at the bank itself and the automated system is horrible, the app never works this is horrible. Worst customer service experience in my entire life
