I have been using NBT for about 6 years now, in the past 1 year, I have had to deal with the embarrassment of being at the grocery check out line to find out that my payroll check had never been posted. This has now happened 6 times. I used this back for convenience, but I hit my last straw last night when it happened again. Time to find a new and better bank.. Stay as far away from this one as you can.. It's just not worth the humiliation of having to be told you card has been denied!!! Especially when the money is in there... read more
As far as banks go, they all offer the same products/services so choosing a bank comes down to the customer service you receive and NBT is by far the best around. The staff at the Front St branch is always friendly and helpful!!!
I used their drive up ATM and the dang thing ATE my ATM card for NO RYME OR REASON, I input my PIN # the first time, and that was it!!! CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! Then it spits out a slip to contact MY Bank, and when I did, MY BANK said they NEVER ISSUED ANY ORDERS TO SEIZE my card!!!! TODAY (FRIDAY), after getting the run around since MONDAY, they finally informed me that THEY DESTROYED MY CARD because of their policies of being from another bank!!!! WHAT A CRACK OF BULL!!! I recently opened an account with nbt and have had nothing but problems since opening. first off they tell u there will be a hold on checks when u open. and they dont tell you for how long the holds will be for. well most of us would assume that it is for 5 days at most. well that is where we are all wrong its 10. and thats business days. i recently moved here from florida and i was with a credit union down in florida and never once had a problem at all and if i did i was able to speak with someone and get it resolved. i hav... read more
