Pretty easy and painless rental experience, very friendly employees. Minus a star because they didn't have the car I reserved and prepaid for. I had reserved a compact luxury sedan, but they gave me a 7 passenger SUV instead. I was thankfully not charged more for the larger vehicle, but it was overkill for just myself. It ate its way through more gas than a smaller car would have, and was alsovery hard to park. As Seinfeld once said "you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation."

Horrible experience tonight with Shane at National Car Rental in Monterey, CA. I reserved a car for work travel, but upon arrival was told that I “might not be able to get a car tonight,” with the reasoning for that being that people had made reservations earlier than I did, and they had to get their cars before I could. The gentleman that helped me was very courteous, patient and pleasant. You also helped me find the verifications that I needed to rent a car. The SUV ran great and I will definitely rent there again at the seaside location. I won't refer them, but I definitely recommend them.
