Absolute dump, hour long wait in line at midnight is unacceptable
Montgomery AL airport branch. Reservation was made 2 weeks out, booked intermediate class to use the Emerald executive area. I waited 2 hours to get a car and ended up in a base model Kia. Person at the counter told me it was due to road construction in front of the airport, which was almost non-existent.
I absolutely loved my rental from National. The process was super easy. The icing on the cake was the staff at Montgomery Regional Airport. Their assistance and customer service was superb. 10 out of 10. I would definitely use National again.
While i appreciate this is a regional airport and I knew it did not have an Emerald Isle, I did expect my reserved rental car to be ready, particularly when my flight was delayed for 2 hours and I had to wait in line at the desk for 30 minutes while they told each customer their car wasn’t ready. The lines at all the other rental car companies were empty, so maybe rent with one of them next time or use a different airport. I certainly wouldn’t recommend National if you value your time.
