Nami is one of the reasons I'm still here today to share my experience. I have attended many functions run by the organization, support grouos, classes and fundraising events just to name a few. This organization not only helps people with mental illness find resources to get further help from they also spend a lot of time teaching individuals and families of individuals how to survive and thrive with mental illnesses of all kinds. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION, or at least from the St Louis Chapter of the organization. I reported inappropriate conversation in at least one OFallon MO meeting, and Executive Director Dar Walker, rather than discussing it further, turned a deaf ear and banned me from all NAMI functions in the entire St Louis area. Another woman told me in church that she pulled her daughter out of the same meeting location due to some 'things' that she wasn't comfortable with.
