The peer support groups is a bunch of strangers new and old talking to each other awkward vibe awkward dynamic. tension in the room you could feel in every peer support group. Unites is a terrible program all strangers run by old ppl. Thirdly there hotline is terrible
What used to be a good organization has now resorted to using the underhanded business strategy of capitalizing on pain points as opposed to doing anything constructive and meaningful. If you have to resort to underhanded tactics in an organization designed to help people, then you are now the problem and have made yourself obsolete.
Nami is a good starting point but there are some red flags one they don’t encourage friendships everyone feels like a stranger I feel like there’s some bullying that goes in groups. One time they split into groups and didn’t include me. I had a panic attack because no one in my table wanted to work with me. Overall vibes are off you’ll feel like you’re talking to strangers. Also some staff will look down upon you. 1/5 stars for friendship and inclusivity.for advocacy 3.5/5 stars.
