The Museum is the only anthropology museum in Missouri and one of only a few in the Midwest. The archaeological collection comprises artifacts dating from 9,000 BC to modern times, including the largest holding of prehistoric Missouri artifacts in the world. Among the thousands of ethnographic objects the Museum curates is a sizable collection of historic Euroamerican materials as well as objects from many cultures around the world. The Grayson Archery Collection is a visitor favorite. Free admission!

This place is great! World class archery collection showing examples from all over the globe. Rotating special exhibits means you never know what you are going to find! The Mask collection that is up currently, was very inspiring. Occasionally the museum is open for special campus events with snacks and good cheer. Pretty cool to have a place like this in the neighborhood.

The Museum of Anthropology's exhibits cover North American ethnographic collections, Missouri archaeology, the Grayson Archery Collection, and rotating exhibits from the global anthropological collections. The Museum of Anthropology is moving back to the center of MU campus and will ... read more
This museum is great in the diversity and the condition of the ancient artefacts it has on display, as well as the attached anthropological museum. If only they had more room to display the other 95% of artefacts that they keep in storage at any one time. They say that they change the items on display periodically, so I guess this place is worth several more visits over time. It’s inside a university building and had no obvious signage outside. You just have to walk in and take a lift to the second floor and follow the signs... read more
