M&T Bank is horrible. I, unfortunately had to deal with them again at the Milford NH branch after a previous horrible experience with them at a different branch in MA. This time I was charged a $5 fee when cashing one of THIER checks. Not to mention the Indian woman teller gave me an attitude during the transaction. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Avoid the bank if you can.
It is not 90 days it is 6 (sixth months) from date on the check . Plus, it is up to the discretion of the bank even after 6 months. I find that "lying"at M&T has become part of their corporate cultural. I feel for all those that have been wronged by this farce of a bank. The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) § 4-404 states that banks are not obligated to pay personal or business checks that are more than six months old. It’s honestly too bad there isn’t a no stars option. The WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. After phone calls went unreturned I had to take time off to visit in person where I was told “I was JUST about to call you” …sure… followed by a long diatribe from the teller about how busy her manager is, stuck in meetings all day etc despite the bank being completely EMPTY?
