it’s not the local branches it’s the customer service over the phone that is horrible, incompetent and very aggressive. They have attitude and seem to be so unhappy with their jobs and so bothered for every little inquiry or request regarding your mortgage.
Terrible experience with M&T Bank. Customer service is consistently unhelpful, and management seems completely disconnected from real customer issues. Simple problems take forever to resolve, with constant runarounds and no accountability. On top of that, their fee structure feels excessive and predatory—charges show up for things that other banks don’t even penalize. Overall, poor business practices and a frustrating bank to deal with. Would not recommend.

Great experience with this bank. The staff is professional, welcoming, and always willing to help. They explain everything clearly and make even routine visits smooth and stress-free. I must say everyone's expectations are different depending on what you need. I myself have been with this bank for sometime now an find there services and customer service amazing! They go out of there way to help the little guy too! The only thing I would hope is to see more branches open up.
