Absolute crooks ruining people's lives. They quoted us 90 days to close after selling our house, since the buyers are assuming our VA loan. We are supposed to close in 2 days, and we just got a call that they won't be ready to close for 2 more weeks. Now we can't close on the home we are buying and we are living off our savings at this point. If I could give negative stars, I would.
NY State law requires auto lien holders to issue a lien release within three business days of the loan being satisfied. M&T refuses to issue a lien release in fewer than ten business days, even when informed it is in violation of NYS law. If you value receiving services in compliance with the law, M&T is not the bank for you.
I had a previous mortgage that was sold to M&T Bank about a year ago. According to M&T, accounts that are not active are automatically closed, therefore, mine is closed and I cannot access the items and information I need. I never received a 1098 form from M&T for the previous year, so I called in. I waited for most likely over 10 minutes just to hear some pretentious snake of a lady come across the line speaking to me super slow like I am special needs or something. Seriously?
