I had a very frustrating experience at this location when I went in to redeem my Series EE savings bonds. The bonds are registered to me as the owner, with my mother and/or father listed as POD (Payable on Death) beneficiaries. The employee at this location told me that I could not cash my bonds unless my parents were deceased and I provided their death certificates. That information was incorrect. I am the registered owner of the bonds, and the people listed as POD beneficiaries are not the owners or co-owners of the bonds.... read more
Do not purchase a Certificate of Deposit from M&T Bank. They do not honor their agreement to pay the interest on the coupon date of the CD. I am now wondering if I will be able to get my principal back on the expiration date. So beware, choose another banking institution to conduct your business with.
Do not trust this bank with your hard earned funds. They will give you the absolute run around when you attempt to access *your* money. Comprehend that..they will hold your funds hostage.
