I had a very frustrating experience with the M&T Bank branch at 8640 Guilford Rd, Suite B-90 in Columbia, MD. On May 4, 2026, at approximately 9:51 AM, I made a $500 cash deposit into my account. Unfortunately, the teller deposited the funds into the wrong account. Once I realized the error, I immediately contacted the branch and spoke with Jeevonya. This is an amazing branch. The people that work there are very thoughtful and go out of their way to be of assistance.
I had an account at the kings contrivance branch for more than 20 years. Despite a healthy balance, they started declining payments with no warning. Apparently in 1998 there was a security breach which was never communicated to me. Their response was to offer to open another account which I declined. When I told them I would probably take my business to another bank, they basically said they didn’t care.
I had a debit card that was damaged. Took it in to the Kings Contrivance branch. I wanted to keep the same card number and they took my card for shredding and said they would put in an order for a replacement (5-7 days). On the 9th day, having not received it, I called the 800 number and discovered there was NO order for a replacement. So, now I am waiting another 3-4 days. My experience with M&T has been positive over several decades, but this experience rates the lowest rating.
I have multiple business accounts with M&T and called for some coin change transaction and asked if they can help me with it. A female teller was very rude and would not help and asked me to go online and set up an appointment with a branch manager. Very disappointed.
