We just bought a new home but have not yet moved in. The refrigerator had flashing lights and made an odd noise when we started it up, so we turned it off and scheduled Mr. Appliance to do a diagnostic and repair. We explained the situation when we scheduled the appointment, but when the technician arrived, he informed us that he could not diagnose the problem unless the unit had been running for 24 hours. This homeowner was charged only for a diagnostic fee ($99+PA state sales tax), which was discussed and agreed to during first contact with our office. During this initial contact, the Mr. Appliance CSR was not informed that the unit had been turned off and would be turned off when the technician arrived for the appointment.
