If you are looking to sample Mead, Mountain House is a great option. It was our first time trying mead and we enjoyed the elderberry mead! In addition to mead, they also sell candles, honey and various gifts that would be great for a hostess, housewarming party, etc. They also removed the price tag and wrapped two items that we purchased as a gift. Our favorite jewel in the mountains! Every time we have a trip that puts us anywhere near this place- we always make time to stop in. I have a 13 year old homeschooler and she loves when we stop here cuz we order her a honey flight while the rest of us adults enjoy the mead flight. We love the handmade soaps and lotions too! We stopped as we were traveling past. It was an amazing opportunity with great items available. The owner was very informative and was very passionate about the products they made. It was a great time talking and learning about how the honey is produced as well as the mead. We talked about the installed beehive and really enjoyed our time spent there. We will definitely be stopping by each time we pass through.

I have driven by so many times and either was in a bit of a hurry or it was past 5pm. This time it was the middle of the day! Stopped and saw the selections of local honey, and creamed honey and finally mead. They also sell soaps and candles made from bee's wax as well! They even do flights of mead for tasting, the creamed and regular honey! Very interesting store and I will go back. Got the pumpkin spice mead and strawberry mead! Awesome!
