I called on the first Friday as instructed last month, waited for an hour this morning and was hung up on. When I tried to call back the message said they were full and to try again next month. Not sure how people are supposed to taken care of if they can’t speak to someone or make an appointment. Sad times.

Dr. Verrastro is absolutely wonderful! Both of my toddlers and I see her, and she is always so kind, patient, and attentive. She really takes the time to listen to any concerns I have and explains things clearly. My kids feel comfortable with her, which means so much to me as a parent. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable doctor!

I've been a patient at MAHEC for a long time. And I absolutely love Dr.Fagan. He is one of those rare doctors who actually listens to his patients. I would have given a five-star rating EXCEPT they have a new triage system now that I just cannot support. Instead I've been transferred directly to a nurse when needed, you are transferred to an answering service at all times of day and I told you will get a call back. They say you'll get a call back within 30 minutes OTHER THAN at busier times. It's ALWAYS busy. I understand th... read more

I like MAHEC. The providers and support staff are great. I don't have anything negative to say about the care I receive. However, they have gone to 3rd party answering services, during the day, for everything. They want you to use your portal or online scheduling. You can't talk directly to anyone who is at MAHEC unless you speak with the 3rd party answering service. They take a message and it's a toss up if you get a call back. Why have y'all done this? It feels so wrong and impersonal.

May favorite location in South Asheville for a picnic lunch during the week. The picnic tables are in the shade under a canopy of beautiful trees and landscape management is proper. The energy and warmth among members of this neighborhood always enlivens my heart. I ride by bike in from Vanderbilt Road, it's safer. Please use the Double-Tree side entrance to avoid Hendersonville Road. They allow us cyclist to refill our water bottle in the Education building. To better health for all.
