Before coming to live at AHMP my mom lived with us for 2 years, which was the hardest thing we were blessed to do and certainly gave us a baseline from which to determine institutional care when we finally came to that decision. I'm not sure what stage of dementia mom has, but her decline while living with us was very slow but real, so when we finally realized we were not enough for her we researched 12 places and chose AHMP. We live in the area and walk around the building frequently. We have noticed that since American House bought this establishment from Mount Prospect Senior Living the grounds and the once beautiful landscaping around the building is being severely neglected. There are weeds in between every shrub that are 6 feet tall and their grass is no longer grass but a giant two feet tall weed patch.
