Their products are good at the store, but calling them and talking to customer service is terrible. The representative was really rude, cut me off, and sounded annoyed to help me. This was the 2nd time I called them asking about my order and both representatives were mean.

I was ready to write a scathing review because Monrovia failed to deliver half of my order, and when I called customer service I got an answering machine. But the next day a representative called me back, and even though I was on the road and did not have my order info in front of me the rep was able to quickly find my order and give me a refund. After cooling down I considered that the nursery business deals with unpredictable supply (failed plant starts, etc) as well as fluctuations in demand. Not a scam on Monrovia's part... read more

I placed an order for 2 apple trees worth $400 in January 2022. The order receipt said the trees would begin shipping the first week of April 2022. I have not received my trees or any updates on this order (now May 30th). I have called multiples times a week these last two months, I have left many voicemails and I have sent multiple emails. I have not once received a call back or response. Do not order from this company, they will not honor your purchase and will leave you in the dark on your order. This is my first time ordering plants from Monrovia online, and it was a great experience!!! I am a horticulturalist and there is one plant I purchase whenever it is available at a local retail nursery: Aloe polyphylla. It is a rare plant and a plant that is hard to grow. I had often asked my local nurseries to order it from Monrovia to no avail. Finally, I could order the plant directly online from Monrovia.
