When my son left for college he opened a Modern Woodmen checking and savings account. Now the whole family banks with them. The online banking is so easy and when we do have to call in, the staff is so helpful and friendly. LOVE this bank!!!
Helpful for me in my experience, they can do applications over the phone for bank accounts and their fee structures are much better than most banks, plus no cash advance fee or overdrafts, and unlimited ATM fee reimbursement. Very weak options for mortgages though on a negative note. Since they're based in Illinois it doesn't seem they're up to speed on other states' mortgage programs.

When dealing with a insurance claim this place sucks... My home had rood damage. Insurance company paid to replace roof but modern Woodman makes you jump thru hoops to have to get the money to have it replaced. Many roof companies walked away once they knew modern Woodman was our loan holder!!!!
