The Peach Store has a nice variety of peach products, salsas, fruit jams, and fudge, and you can get fresh peaches (May thru July). Sadly, the soft-serve peach ice cream didn't have much fruit in it and was overpriced (nothing like the amazing stuff we got at the peach fest). It tasted like vanilla with a hint of peach. Maybe they should offer a peach sundae with diced fruit on it to increase the peachiness, which would be worth it. Service was friendly.
I've never been to this place but have heard that they the best peaches in Ruston , and Ruston is the peach capital of Louisiana .
We drove out from hours away being told this was the largest peach farm in LA- and upon arrival we noticed that they had no fresh peaches which is OK- we missed it by a week and a half. But- upon further questioning we realized that everything they sell in store including their peaches is not even from their farm! It's processed, grown and packaged in TEXAS! Today is the last day to buy peaches.
My little momma was craving peaches, so I stopped by Mitcham Farms on my way to visit her. I had been there over ten years ago and remembered that it seemed so far out in the middle of nowhere, so I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which I found them this time (just a few miles off I-20 via Tarbutton Road exit).
