The free tax preparation by AARP is quite limited in scope. They can only handle simple returns. They are unable to handle investment issues fully as I found out to my dismay. I collected the documents outlined on a list that was sent to me but when I talked to a volunteer they said the list was incorrect. I was put in a bad position because when I went to get my taxes done there were only a couple of days until the deadline to file. I now have to scramble and find a tax preparation person elsewhere. There is so much there art classes, trips, so much help help. The people are so pleasant and helpful.
