This was the third year we have taken my 94 year old mother's taxes to Mindy. The first year was fine - she did an extension, but everything was filed by August and we had her refund shortly thereafter. Last year was bad, we did the extension and the taxes were filled after the extension deadline. Mindy deducted all the penalties from her bill. I've only used this CPA for three years now, and the last two have gone from bad to worse. Last year, it was the last day to file when I called and was "ok'd" to come in and sign my returns for filing. This year, same drill. After hearing nothing the day before, I called on the morning of tax day and her assistant told me this CPA was with a client and would call me back. We've been using Mindy Thomas for a few years for our taxes without problems, but this year was really awful. We submitted all the paperwork many weeks in advance and then did not hear from her...when it was two days before the deadline, I tried to contact her a couple of times to see what was happening but she did not get back to me. Then I found that the day after the deadline they submitted my return at the last minute, without showing it to me first.
