Sales associate was rude and condescending because he thought we couldn't afford items in the store. Made comments such as "this store is higher end" than Ashley furniture." Constantly rolled his eyes and mumbled under his breath. I wouldn't waste my time doing business with someone like that.
My husband and I went shopping for a new sectional in January to replace our then-current budget Ashley model purchased nearly 8 years ago. We were looking for higher quality furniture and preferred to shop locally, and after checking another locally owned store, along with a chain store, we went to Millspaugh based on a few recommendations. We just bought a recliner from the Poughkeepsie store. It is such a relief to know that we could buy real furniture from reputable firm. Al Dunn was patient, knowledgeable and funny. Recommend the store, it's staff and the merchandise.
We love the furniture at Millspaugh. Only place around here i've found that has US made, very high quality furniture. We have our bedroom set and our small kitchen table from there. Both were all real wood and customized to what handles and color wood we wanted. It is expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. I think we've worked with Al both times, just they are old school with no computers, just hand written orders which is a little weary. It took us 6 months to get our latest table made.
