Due to my Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU) checking account not being my primary account, I only keep a certain amount of cash in this account for billing purposes. I also keep some cash in a savings account at MECU, used as a back up for the checking account. Very infrequently does my account experience issues with overdrafts due to billing errors associated with auto payments. I have belonged to credit unions in other states and the customer service was marginal. Lynn and the staff are always pleasant, and I am always charmed that they remember my name every time. Clean and efficient.
Debit card system down for the entire day with no alerts sent out to us. Was getting groceries, denied and that’s how I found out. No gas to get to work and barely enough food to make it till the next day. Banks are closed as it’s now 9pm. I would have gone to take cash out had they let their members know. Ridiculous
