I would have given 5 stars a year a go... But there's a strong push for self-checkout machines that are overly sensitive. (I get interrupted nearly every time I go, because of slight weight discrepancies - some things might fall over when I put them in the bag. Or even, the camera thinks I stole something because I misplaced my gloves.) Needless to say, I miss express checkout with a real person. The prices are slightly high just because they can. I made a purchase at the supermarket. When I returned to the garage, I found that every car had a ticket placed on it. The parking attendant was extremely rude. I told him I had spent money at the supermarket and asked if the ticket could be canceled, but he said it was none of his business. His job is to issue us tickets. I've never encountered a supermarket where you have to scan a code to park and shop—it's utterly foolish.

★☆☆☆☆ My girlfriend went to the Metro on Rideau Street on a Sunday when the LCBO was closed. She was already struggling physically and used a lot of energy just to get there. At the checkout, an employee named Iris refused the sale because she believed my girlfriend was intoxicated. My girlfriend was experiencing withdrawal symptoms, including shaking, which we believe were mistaken for intoxication.
