I went here a few years ago when I moved to GA. I came in knowing that as a veteran I did not have to pay ad valorem based on my rating. Went to register my car and the women came back with $1548! I nicely mentioned that I was a disabled veteran and based on my disability rating I did not have to pay ad valorem. She said she would check with someone. My friend who is handicapped and lost her spouse last year, filled for a homestead tax exemption during the window available during the beginning of 2025. She received her bill and the exemption wasn't applied. We came here last week and they told her sorry! If you don't have a receipt we can't do anything. Several other people are in this same position. Where did the original paperwork go? Who knows? My friend was able to find her copy and we came back up here to get it fixed. Very rude staff, not able to answer questions professionally. Speaks very rude to callers ignore their calls and hang up the phone on them. Feel very comfortable telling customers shut up. No transparency on their policies and procedures. Get very upset if your challenge their answer to your questions or ask for detailed clarification. Refuse to answer your questions if they get mad at you and refuse to let you speak with a higher authority.
