Do not waste your time here for your mortgage. Incompetence and repeated mistakes. When ya call them out on it. Expect surly disingenuous response. Their customer service went from poor the last few years to down right awful now. Who the heck have they been hiring!?!? You cant get anyone at the call centre that knows what they are doing either. If I could give zero stars I would. We received a preapproval from this credit union back in November. Our house is set to close in less than two weeks and we’ve been left high and dry because they have staffing issues. Now scrambling to secure financing And not breach our closing date deadline. Thanks for nothing Meridian. Highly recommend that everybody look elsewhere for a mortgage.
First-time home buyers beware- do not get your mortgage here. You will come into their office cautiously optimistic. The staff will not give you advice. The service will be poor. They will not help you or explain anything. Their "expert" advice does not exist. On Feb 9th I had an appointment scheduled to see if I could qualify for a mortgage. This review is not about being approved or declined. It’s about a complete breakdown in service, communication, and accountability. Meridian had roughly a three-month head start on my file, yet delivered empty promises, minimal follow-up, and misleading expectations about timing. After the file was redesignated due to a staff failure, there was still no meaningful improvement—no clear ownership, no proactive communication, and no accountability from management. Absolutely horrible. Made an account to get the higher interest rate of 4.8 percent, moved 130k, and they stopped the promotion early. Will be closing my account and never dealing with them ever again. The worst bank that I've ever dealt with. STAY AWAY. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!
