Applied for a debt consolidation loan. Submitted all documents on a Monday. Got an email Tuesday advising my application would be processed on the Wednesday. I heard nothing. I left a voicemail for the gentleman dealing with my application and sent 2 emails (on different days) to inquire to the status, if there were any questions and to get an estimate as to when I'd receive an answer and got no response. Stay away! Meridian does not stand by their written communications and when you escalate they just tell you "we will take it as feedback". Could cost me thousands. I asked for permission to record the call and now have a call recording with Nick on the Meridian escalation team *update. Nina called me back and really didn't seem to care. Acknowledged the communication was a mistake and in writing, but there's nothing she could do and states I just should have realized it was an error
Once I was locked in again for another 3 year term, the agent started to give me a hard time getting my Hloc done. She waited 3 weeks after our appointment (the day before my renewal) to call me and said I didn't sent her the right paperwork when I had it circled (by her) I sent everything she circled that day. Once I am done this 3 years I will be closing all my accounts with them and moving back to td where even after my business was done they still treat you properly.
The Penetang branch has the worst customer service. We have been dealing with them for almost a year to try and close an account for a deceased person. After the first time we called and they provided information they never returned our calls or emails. We have escalated it to management and head office. They would call back once and then never call back again. It seems nobody knows what to do and they didn’t bother to look into this further for us. I do not recommend this bank at all.
I cannot recommend this Meridian enough! I have been helped by Jessica for many months now and every time she has been so friendly, personable and helpful! I believe in building a connection with your clients and that’s exactly what Jessica does! She’s the reason I have not left to bank elsewhere.
