The medford school district is horrendous. Especially the sped department. The head hasn't been in the position long. The assistant sped director (Brent Mcconaghy, aka Mac) is a disrespectful job hopper. Trying to climb the corporate ladder by hopping from school/district to the next to get more pay. When he wasn't given the superintendent position for MSD he threw a fit about it. Same man who said to us "let's be real, she won't meet academic goals". Zero stars!! Some staff in this school district clearly do not care about students or the community. Concerns are dismissed, complaints are brushed off, and there seems to be more effort put into protecting each other than fixing problems. I have been requesting IEP evaluations for my two boys since 2nd and 4th grade at Roosevelt. Throughout this process, I dealt with constant dishonesty being told one thing over the phone and something completely different in person. Very well run school district that responds to a myriad of needs with limited resources. A lot of highly trained teachers working overtime to help the young people in the community get a good start on life.
