Was visiting a distant family member at this home and I was absolutely delighted to see how well cared for they were. The staff were all very pleasant and happy to help in any way they could. Everyone was extremely welcoming which made it so much easier to visit under the circumstances. The home itself was clean and well kept.

I have worked at Mearns House Care home for slightly over 7 years now, I have found my experience to be that of a great one , I have had many opportunities to expand my career and have done so, starting as a care assistant and now a senior Care Practitioner. I have always found the staff and management team to be very welcoming and helpful, always willing to accommodate staff any way possible, Residents have expressed to myself that they enjoy having a homely, happy environment to live in .

I have been working as a staff nurse for 2 years at Mearns House and have to say it has been a pleasure getting to know all the staff, residents and their families. I have always found management to be very welcoming and helpful. Ensuring I have lots of training opportunities to progress in my career but also to offer the best care to the residents in the home. My husband stayed here for a week's respite in January. I had explained that, due to his dementia and inability to communicate following a stroke, he wouldn't realise where the shower was plus he no longer remembers to put on deodorant. I was assured that this would not be a bother and that the staff would help him. I have been visiting Mearns house as a professional for many year and have always found it looking lovely, with helpful staff and really well cared for residents. The manager is friendly and cant do enough for you and the hospitality is excellent. I wouldnt hesitate picking Mearns House for one of my own family if needed - keep up the good work!
