Before jumping in head first after a 20 odd year cycling break, I decided to drop into McConvey Cycles to have a chat. I found the person I spoke to (Lance), was unbelievably knowledgeable and even more friendly. Looking forward to booking a fitting, buying a bike with them and getting back into it.
Brilliant family owned bike shop. Looked after excellently by Lance and Connor. Superb range of products and knowledge.
Made an arrangement for Mcconveys to fix the brakes and do a service. So last Saturday I brought it down only to be told they couldn't because they didn't have the part for the brakes and to take the bike away as they didn't have insurance to cover the bike as I didn't buy it from them. This was really inconvenient lifting the bike in and out of the car. However they did recommend the bike shop up the ormeau road and he was very decent repaired the brakes there and then. Have used Mcconveys for years, have spent over £500 getting work done to a bike years ago. It was a rock hopper pro. I wasn't happy with the work they had done. Then needed a free hub for my electric Vado sl, when I brought it in the older gentleman tried to find the part I needed, he checked serial number on my bike. Tried to tell me the serial number didn't exist or the bike was stolen. The other week I called in spoke with a younger gentleman with black haired.
