Louzy customer services and policies I bought 4 DVD and few books-all for children activities. After 2 days I realized that I did a mistake and I already had one of the DVD's. I tried to returned after 4 days even for a credit store, but customer service did not want even to hear about returning the DVD. Good deals but avoid staff at McKays If you remember the cretins who worked for Tower Records and helped run that great store into the ground, you'll be in for a bit of unwanted nostalgia when you encounter the blockheads at McKays. Setting a poor example for the younger kids who seem to want to act professionally are the obviously miserable supervisors with their customer service skills sorely lacking, and their obviou rudeness seemingly intent upon bringing what was once a great dstore down. Wish it were better Great books, lousy customer service. I'll never go there again!!! Trading books took forever and the employees are extremely rude!
great place to bring old books, movies, and music We just moved here and while unpacking put aside items that we really didn't need anymore. I brought a bunch of kid videos and old books here and was given $60 in store credit! What a great deal!
McKay used books -Pluses and Minuses I was delighted to find a local used book store. I had been eyeing several titles on Amazon (as well as in Amazon Marketplace used books), but thought how nice it would be if I could get these titles locally and save money. Turns out, not so much. I entered the store with specific titles in mind and not a lot of time. I was told I would have the search the shelves myself since they could not check title availability in their computer.
McKays This place is great. I don't know of that many used bookstores around my area, so this is the one I've been going to. The books are cheap and in great condition and they even have a pretty cool selection of movies/music. Definitely worth checking out!
Great bargains We bought a bunch of Sesame street books for our 2 yr old for about 10c each! You cannot find a better bargain on these. The condition of the books is pretty good too. We are so glad we found this place and keep going back.
Great way to spend a few hours I agree with the other reviewer that it's a bit disorganized, but honestly I can see where it's tough to keep things straight when the customers can't be bothered to put their rejects back into even the same section let alone the same shelf. I mean, how many times do you see people just drop a whole stack of books on a shelf like they belong there and walk away? Not to mention letting their kids use the store as a personal playpen. McKay Used books=Manassas I enjoy visiting this store, but I down graded them due to unorganization. It is hard to look through cd's when they are all clumped together by one letter, there has to be a better way to do that.
