Awful return Policy I wanted to warn people about shopping at the Matsu-Store Online outlet. I recently purchased a Zaisu floor chair from them online. They have many different fabrics to choose from, which is great. Unfortunately, the entire pattern of the fabric is not displayed on the site and the actual pattern looks different from what you ordered. This would not be an issue as long the online store manager would be willing to refund the money you spent on the chair. The owner is absolutely not willing to work with you ... read more

I have been coming to the Albany and San Rafael Matsu stores for over 10 years and have always been impressed by the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to work something out if it wasn't available. In addition they have a bay area best of class collection of Japanese 'tchotchkis', totems, furniture, ceramic and bedding. It really should be seen in person vs an on line store to be fully appreciated. You can wander for an hour in the store, which are small and dense, always... read more
Matsu Matsu is a nice little store selling Japanese style furniture, home dcor and accessories. They also have small selection of small table water fountains and decorative items for a Japanese garden. They have some beautiful comforters and comforter covers made with beautiful Japanese designs. They also carry many futons, tatamis and zaisus.
