Very cute store located on the north corner of Mt Dora downtown. Unique gift and home decor items. Staff has always been pleasant and kind, even when we have our kids in tow. Mostly reasonably priced high quality items; a few items seem to have a little bit of a high markup. Store is not ideal for strollers but it can be done.
Owner publicly yelled at a man pressure washing the outside sidewalk for dirtying her store windows. Truly horrible treatment! He was just helping the street look nicer. He even told her he was not done and was going to wash the windows after.. Was going to go in and shop but decided against it after seeing how she behaved.
We had a delightful visit both on Saturday with an employee and Monday with the owners. Both were super friendly greeting us immediately and willing to help! I had a return they gladly took care of and replaced with a perfect pair of earrings. They also highly recommended two lunch places. The Salted Fry was such a delightful place with terrific food! Both places added to the charm that Mt Dora has always had!
Matamo is one of my favorite downtown Mt Dora shops. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have amazing home decor items. This time of year, they also have lots of cute Christmas ornaments and other Christmas decor. A must see.
